September is indeed a crucial time for raising awareness about suicide prevention, and it’s important to address how specific groups, like Veterans, are particularly affected. The statistics are sobering, and it’s vital to highlight resources available to help those in need.

For Veterans facing challenges related to housing, finances, relationships, custody issues, or types of civil legal matters, LSND may be able to assist you. It is helpful and comforting to know that support is available. Below is a list of other resources to reach out to for veterans struggling with suicidal thoughts.

Immediate Help:

Veterans Crisis Line provides 24/7, confidential support. You can reach out by calling 988 and pressing 1, chatting online, or texting 838255.

 Resources for Veterans:

  • Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS): TAPS offers support for families who have lost a loved one serving in the military.
  • Military One Source: Military One Source provides free, confidential support and resources for service members and their families.
  • American Red Cross: American Red Cross offers various services including support for military and Veteran families.
