Staff Attorney – Pre-Petition Referral Program
Full-Time | Exempt | Statewide (Remote within North Dakota)
LSND is seeking a Staff Attorney to join its Pre-Petition Referral Program, a proactive initiative designed to prevent foster care placement and stabilize at-risk families through civil legal advocacy.
Law Internships Available
LSND summer interns will work side by side with LSND staff in an effort to provide, protect and enhance access to justice. LSND law student interns will be exposed to various areas of poverty law and gain invaluable experience.
LSND summer interns will work side by side with LSND staff in an effort to provide, protect and enhance access to justice. LSND law student interns will be exposed to various areas of poverty law and gain experience through:
- Interviewing clients seeking advice or assistance
- Undertaking direct assistance and responsibilities to clients
- Drafting petitions, motions and other court documents
- Engaging in investigation and formal discovery
- Counseling and advising clients
- Researching case specific legal issues
- Court appearances
Qualifications:
- 1st or 2nd year law students
