About Disaster Legal Services

Disaster Legal Services is a federal program that enables Legal Aid organizations such as Legal Services of North Dakota to provide free legal assistance to disaster survivors. If you’ve experienced a disaster, you may be facing resulting legal issues for months or years after the disaster has ended. Contact us if you have any of the following legal needs after a disaster:

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for Disaster Legal Services, your legal issue must be related to natural disasters that occurred in winter 2022 or later. If your legal issue is unrelated to a natural disaster, you may still be eligible for legal assistance under another Legal Services of North Dakota Program.

Financial eligibility for all Legal Services of North Dakota programs depends on income, wealth, and household size. Review our eligibility criteria and Contact Us if you have questions. You can apply for assistance here or by calling our intake team.
