2. When you call for legal assistance, an intake worker will ask you a few questions, including household information and financial details. These initial questions
are asked to determine which services
you qualify for and help identify the best programs to help you. Everything you say is strictly confidential.

3. Once qualified under one or more of the programs available, the intake worker will ask about your legal issue to start putting together options and advice from our attorneys.

4. If you need more than advice, LSND may be able to offer representation on your legal issue.

5. If LSND cannot assist you, we make every effort to refer you to other resources and organizations that may be able to help with your specific issue.

Additional legal help may be available for Fort Berthold, Turtle Mountain and Spirit Lake Reservations for Health, Housing, Public Benefits, Elder Law (low income only), Indian Child Welfare Act, and Select Tribal/Indian Law Issues.

Legal services are free, however you may have to pay all or part of costs such as required filing fees and service fees. Many times there are no such charges. Donations to LSND are always welcome.
