Legal Services of North Dakota (LSND) is here to help victims of crime understand and protect their legal rights. Through funding from the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA), we offer free, confidential legal assistance to eligible individuals across North Dakota.

If you are a victim of:

  • Domestic violence

  • Sexual assault

  • Stalking or harassment

  • Elder abuse

  • Human trafficking

  • Violent crimes (e.g., assault, robbery)

…you may be eligible for legal assistance through LSND.

 

What can LSND do for you?

VOCA-funded legal services may include:

  • Obtaining protection or restraining orders

  • Divorce or custody matters related to abuse

  • Housing issues (e.g., breaking a lease due to violence)

  • Employment issues (e.g., taking time off due to court)

  • Victim compensation claims

  • Safety planning referrals

  • Access to supportive resources
