Disaster affected communities may also lose access to clean drinking water. Water infrastructure and pipes may be damaged or faucets may be inaccessible. If grocery stores and other food vendors are affected by the disaster, bottled water may be unavailable. Disaster relief organizations will likely provide bottled water to the community through the county’s emergency services operations or at central locations within the community or just outside the disaster affected area. Make sure you prioritize access to clean drinking water when looking for support after a disaster.
