Current DisasterA disaster is defined by the Oxford Dictionary as, “a sudden event, such as an accident or a natural catastrophe, that causes great damage or loss of life”. Many people think of a disaster as a weather event that causes widespread damage, but a fire that only affects only one property can be a disaster too. Regardless of the size of the disaster, your community likely has resources available to help you recover. Legal Services of North Dakota is available to assist you with your legal needs stemming from a disaster. Use our directory to find resources in your community for your other needs.

Below are links to resources searchable by county and resources searchable by a particular need (i.e. housing, insurance, employment, etc.). If you’re preparing for a disaster, it is recommended that you print out a hard copy of resources in your area for quick reference during a disaster. Store this list with your disaster kit.
